Letsnotate Tutorials
Letsnotate takes a radically different approach to writing staff notations. All notations
are entirely generated by text! The only requirement is that the text must be in a
certain format. Don't worry, the format (or syntax) is quite simple and you can grasp
it in very little time. This series of small tutorials is designed to familiarize you with
the Letsnotate syntax so you can start writing your own notations.
All the tutorials are interactive - you can change the text and see the effect of the change
immediately. There is a "navigator" towards the bottom of the screen which will help
to find your way around the tutorials. The changes you make to the text in tutorials
are not preserved. If you would like to save your changes you must first signup (it's free!). Then when you want to save your changes click the edit button on the
navigator.
It is advisable to go through the tutorials in the order listed. Once you get the
hang of it, you will realize you can write notations much faster than you can with a
GUI based program such as MuseScore. Tutorials 1-11 are foundational. But the real power
of Letsnotate will be apparent when you visit more advanced topics listed from 12
onwards.
